Daniel Ray Evans
     b. March 11, 1936 in Hood River, Oregon
     d. August 16, 1966 in Hood River, Oregon

Daniel Ray Evans was born on March 11, 1936 to Alvy and Mary Evans. He was the 2nd born, and oldest son. He was also the artist of that generation, inheriting his Mom’s talent… After graduating from high school, Danny went on to join the Navy… On December 18, 1964, when Danny was 28 years old, he married Shirley Chaffin in a shot gun wedding… Seven months later they had a daughter. Lenee Annette Evans was born on July 24th, 1965 in Hood River, Oregon…. Lenee would grow up to marry an “Ives”, and had a son named Patrick Jacoby Ives.

Rumor has it that one day Danny came home from work to find his wife in bed with another man. That man happened to be the local sheriff. When Danny confronted them,
the sheriff shot and killed Danny, and set it up as a suicide….

I never knew my Uncle Danny, as he died before I was born. I’ve never met my cousin Lenee either. I don’t even have any pictures of Shirley or Lenee…

How do I get in contact with you? I am Lenee’s son.

  2. Lenee said,

Julie when I read this I cried. I was always told that my father committed suicide because he had a cancerus brain tumer and he was afraid of becoming an invalid. He did not want to be a burden to the family. This is the first time I have heard anything about infidility and murder. Wow! and you say it was the sheriff. Thats quite a story! I haven’t said anything to my mother about this, but I have contacted an investigator. He makes a living at finding the truth. I don’t know how much it will cost . I may have to sell my house! But I think we all deserve to know the truth, whatever it is.

I hope that your version is the correct one. While suiside is never a good thing, being murdered is much worse!

My mom is the one who told me about the sheriff. It all happened before I was born. (My Dad was already dead when my mom told me about Danny, when I was researching the Evans side.)
